Fabulous! Heart-wrenching, eye-opening, mind-stimulating book. The writing pulls you right into the story, and the tales teach you of, what to me was, an unfamiliar culture in a wonderful way. Part of the story is harsh (the movie calls it “strong thematic material), but the deeper story is in the relationships—of the main character with his childhood friend, his father, his wife, and his country. Fabulous.
