Argo—this movie came with much hype and built-up expectations. I have vague memories of the bigger issues as related to the hostages at the time, but I have no memory of this story. Then again, no one knew this story until some time in the late 90s. And although I was sure of the ending, the movie did an excellent job of keeping things suspenseful enough to capture your attention. Affleck was fine, but John Goodman and Alan Arkin, they steal the show. They shine. And at the end, it is their story that gave me great joy (aside from the obvious, of course). Back to the movie, it was nice to care and find suspense without big blockbuster-esque distractions. No, it’s the story here. It’s the characters. It’s the character of those characters. That’s why this movie grabs you. That’s why this movie makes you care.
